Hello everyone.
This is Takamatsu from the Comomg staff.
February is almost over.
As it gradually gets warmer, perhaps you are going out for walks
more often.
It's also the season for pollen, so masks are a must
Today, I'd like to talk about "Mokuiku" (wood education)!
Have you ever heard the word "Mokuiku"?
In fact, the word "Mokuiku" can be interpreted in many different ways.
According to one view,
"Mokuiku" is the idea that everyone, starting with children, should "come into contact with wood, learn from wood, and live with wood."

As a first step in "Mokuiku," let's start by looking at the characteristics of wood!
Wood mainly has the following characteristics.
○It is one of the natural materials we use in everyday life
○It feels pleasant to the touch and has warmth
○It has just the right weight
○You can enjoy its scent, its sound, and its color
Wood with these characteristics
is processed into paper, tableware, furniture, toys and more, and has become part of our daily lives.
And it gives us many kinds of learning.
Because children can experience the feel, scent and sound of wood,
it stimulates their five senses and helps them develop.
Wood is also a material that was once alive.
Touching wood from childhood gives children a chance to think about the value of life
and our connection with nature.
Wood also becomes an opportunity for children to learn about the environment.
By using wood in everyday life from childhood,
children can develop a rich heart that thinks proactively about the relationship between people, trees and forests.
So far I have talked about "Mokuiku,"
and now I would like to introduce some Comomg toys that we recommend for "Mokuiku"!
The first one is "Mame no Garagara" (bean rattle).
It is a toy that makes a sound as the wooden beads inside move.
The gentle sound of wood against wood has a calming effect.
It is also a great gift to celebrate the birth of a baby.
The next toy I'd like to introduce is "Donguri Korokoro."

It is Comomg's most popular product; you play with it by letting it toddle down a slope.
It has just the right weight for small hands to grasp, and the sound of the wood knocking is adorable.
At Comomg, we sell toys that let you feel the warmth, scent and sound of wood🌳
Many wooden toys have simple designs, so children can play with them using their imagination freely!
Why not bring a few wooden toys into your child's everyday play?
