どんぐり兜 新しくなって登場!

Donguri Kabuto: Renewed and Back!

Hello. This is Watanabe from the Comomg staff.

Only 5 days left until Children's Day🎏

This time, we'd like to introduce "Donguri Kabuto"!

Donguri Kabuto is back on sale for the first time in a year.

This year it has been renewed and a new design has been added, so there's plenty to see!

Donguri Kabuto is a kabuto (samurai helmet) ornament that can be placed on Donguri Korokoro.

As shown in the photos, loosen the helmet's cord and put it on the acorn, and it fits snugly!

You can also pull the cord after putting it on to hold the acorn in place◎

Try pairing it with Natural Donguri, which comes in the set, or with your favorite Donguri Korokoro👀

Also, the folding screen doubles as a little slope, so the acorn can walk down it◎

Put the helmet on for display, and take it off when playing to let the acorn walk as much as it likes!

The photo shows "Natural Donguri," which comes in the Donguri Kabuto set, walking down the slope. The difference between the natural colors of walnut and maple is beautiful👀

Next, let us introduce the two types of helmet ornaments!

The Kuwagata type, which we've offered for some time, has been renewed, and its kuwagata (horn-shaped crest) is now three-dimensional◎

The whole helmet has also been refined little by little for a cooler finish. Comparing the two side by side, it feels sleeker💭

(Left: old type, right: new type)

And the new Crescent Moon type, introduced this year, is a helmet ornament with a beautiful crescent-shaped curve.

Seeing them all drying after painting is quite a spectacle.

Not only the ornaments but also the hat parts differ between the Kuwagata and Crescent Moon types, so if you're curious, take a good close look at the real thing or the photos👀

Now, here's a little look at how they're made!

This year's new helmet design was made possible thanks to a new machine called a machining center, which played a big role.

The photo shows the machining center cutting the wood.

We create 3D data of the shape we want, adjust the output and send it to the machine; the blade then moves and cuts the wood we've set in place.

For longer jobs, it has sometimes kept working for almost half a day!

The new machine has been a great help, but polishing, assembly and other finishing work are still done with care by our staff!

Making good use of both machine work and handwork, we will keep making toys "For the better smiles of children"!

The "Donguri Kabuto" introduced here makes a gift that will be appreciated not only for celebrating the Boys' Festival, but also as a baby gift, or as a present for friends or people overseas.

If you're interested, please check it out🍂

Look forward to our next update!
