Our Craftsmanship
From planning and development to design, Comomg creates its toys in-house, and every single toy is made in Japan, finished one by one at our own workshop in Kawaguchi City, Saitama. From choosing materials to ensuring safety, we keep crafting toys that children can safely lose themselves in.
One by One, at Our Own Workshop in Kawaguchi
Comomg's makers are both designers who plan and design the toys and craftspeople who shape them with their own hands. The person who came up with a toy makes it, and the person who made it comes up with the next one. That connection gives rise to toys that are thoughtfully designed down to the finest details of how they feel in use.
The workshop is connected to our flagship store, so from the shop you can watch our toys being made.
Entirely Original, and Truly a Product
Every toy we create under our own brand is original. We value originality not only in the shape, but in the way of playing itself. A toy that imitates someone else's would not let us stand proudly before the children who enjoy it with such pure delight.
At the same time, Comomg's toys are not works of art pursuing the maker's self-expression. They are products for the children and families who hold them. We have children play with our prototypes and listen to the voices of our customers and everyone who helps spread the word about our toys as we finalize each design.
Why We Use Solid Wood
Our main materials are solid woods such as beech, maple, walnut, and zelkova. We also use FSC-certified and Japanese-grown wood. In solid wood, the grain and color differ from piece to piece. That is not unevenness, but individuality. Each is different, yet all are beautiful. We want children to feel this with their own hands. The warmth and weight of wood, and the gentle sound it makes as it rolls, are things only wood can offer.
Our efforts to use wood without waste are introduced on our "Our Environmental Efforts" page.
Safety First
Without safety, play cannot exist. Comomg's toys are made according to our own in-house standards, which comply with the ST (Japan Toy Safety) and CE standards. We also choose paints and adhesives whose safety has been verified. The paints we use and their safety standards are listed on each product page.
On the other hand, excessive concern for safety can also spoil play itself. Building blocks with corners rounded too much are hard to stack, and a pull toy with a string that is too short can't be pulled. Finding the right balance between safety and genuine play is also an important part of the maker's job.

What is your signature product?
It is Donguri Korokoro, created in 2004. This wooden toy toddles down a slope when you place it on one, and it was selected as a Good Toy in 2006. It is recommended for ages 3 and up, but children under 3 can also enjoy it when an adult makes it move for them.
Can the wood grain or color differ from the photos?
Yes. Because we use solid wood, the grain and color vary from piece to piece. Please enjoy this as the individuality of wood — no two pieces are exactly alike.
