Hugely Popular! Donguri Santa

Hello, everyone.

This is Sugawara from the Comomg staff ☺️

Now that November has arrived, the chilly mornings and evenings and the shorter days let us know that winter is on its way ♪

And when we think of winter, Christmas is what comes to mind, isn't it? 🎅🎄

Today we'd like to introduce Donguri Santa ♪

Whether you already own one or have simply been curious about it, we hope to share the charm of Donguri Santa with you!

What is Donguri Santa?

At Comomg, our "Donguri Korokoro" toy, which rolls down a slope, is a very popular item.

Since it has a marble inside, as long as you can create a slope at just the right angle, it can be enjoyed even without a dedicated Donguri Korokoro ramp.

That "Donguri Korokoro," dressed up with a red hat and a white beard to become a Santa Claus version, is 【Donguri Santa】🎅✨

Of course, Donguri Santa also has a marble inside, so it goes clackety-clack down the slope too ♪

"Donguri Korokoro" can be enjoyed independently from age 3, but
because 【Donguri Santa】 uses small parts such as the beard and the pom-pom on the hat, independent play is recommended from age 5.

When young children play with it, please always make sure an adult plays together with them 😊

To make Donguri Santa, we first shave the hat using two different blades on a lathe.

After that, we drill the hole where the pom-pom will go,

and then return it to the lathe, this time smoothing the surface with sandpaper.

The key point here is not to sand it too much!

Not just with Donguri Santa's hat — if you sand any piece too much it becomes glassy smooth, which makes the paint harder to apply evenly.

So rather than a glassy finish, we aim for a soft, matte texture!

The red upper part and white lower part of Donguri Santa's hat are shaped separately,

and both pieces are painted before finally being glued together at the end.

For the hat's pom-pom too, we drill a hole in each one and insert a wooden dowel to hold the glue.
Every step is done entirely by hand.

The face is drawn the same way as "Donguri Korokoro" up through the outlines, but
before adding the nose and eyes, we take one extra step to attach the beard ☺️

Each beard is also painted white individually and firmly glued on.

It's popular as a Christmas present, but
we also have a great many customers who purchase it as home decor even before Christmas 🎅💚

Just displaying it in a room instantly makes the space more charming and festive ✨

It really puts you in that excited, can't-wait-for-Christmas kind of mood.

Donguri Santa is currently available for pre-order!

If you order now (as of November 10th), delivery will be from late November through early December.
