Hello everyone!
This is Takeda from the Comomg staff.
It's mid-April, and the cherry blossoms have started to show green leaves,
how has everyone been doing?
With everyone asked to refrain from going out,
many of you may be spending long hours at home.
When you're stuck at home all the time,
the repetition of similar days can get you feeling down,
and children can get bored playing the same games over and over.
So this time, we'd like to introduce
new ways to play with Donguri Korokoro that both adults and children can enjoy together!
Donguri Korokoro isn't just for rolling down slopes—
with a little creativity, you can enjoy many more kinds of play.
Now, let's dive right in and introduce them! ♪
"Oshikura Manju" (Squeeze Race)

Let's start with an easy one.
For "Oshikura Manju," line up the acorns on a flat surface, like a book.
Then hold both ends,
raise and lower the board,
and the acorns will start squeezing together!
Rather than just watching them squeeze together,
try guessing which acorn will be the last one standing,
or form teams of acorns
and see which team lasts longer—that's fun too! ♪
"Acorn Balance Beam"

The Acorn Balance Beam is a game played by two people working together.
First, line up the acorns on a long, narrow board, and each person holds one end.
Then, as one person gently lifts their end, the board transforms into a narrow slope!
Can you get the acorns all the way down the slope without dropping them?
Cardboard works just as well,
so try making boards of different widths and see what happens! ♪
"Race to the Goal! The Great Acorn Adventure"

Last but not least, here's one more.
This is a way of playing that's great for slightly older children.
Place an acorn on a picture you've drawn yourself
and guide it carefully toward the goal.
It's very easy to make.
1. Prepare some paper and draw a picture using crayons, colored pencils, or any materials you like.
2. Tape the picture you drew onto a flat board.
(Cardboard, a picture book—anything works!)
3. Place your favorite acorn on top, and you're done! ✨
Once you've placed the little acorn at the starting point,
hold the board and tilt it little by little,
guiding it all the way to the goal.
It's not just a game about reaching the goal—
you could draw a shop and play pretend shopping,
or draw a forest and take your acorn for a walk—
the possibilities for play are endless, depending on what you draw.
Drawing a maze and giving it a try is also great fun! ♪

(We drew a picture on drawing paper and pasted it into a notebook to play! ♪)
