Our Commitment to Safety and Peace of Mind

Hello everyone ♪
This is Takeda from the Comomg staff.

When you're choosing a toy, what do you look at
to decide whether to buy it?

Maybe it's how fun it is to play with, or the design…
There are so many factors that can tip the decision, but
what matters most of all is "safety," isn't it.

Young children find it hard to notice danger on their own,
so that they can play and enjoy themselves with peace of mind, things like the materials used and the condition of the toy
are something we feel we need to be more careful about.

Comomg's toys are handmade, but
so that even little children can use them with peace of mind,
we hold firm "commitments" when it comes to materials and craftsmanship!

Of the safety-related questions we've received from customers so far,
and Comomg's commitments when it comes to making toys,
we'd like to pick out a few and introduce them to you this time.

About the materials used in making our toys

We often receive inquiries about our "paint" and "adhesive (glue)."

When you think about children who put everything in their mouths, whether something is harmful to the body
is naturally something you'd want to know, isn't it.

First, about the paint —
at Comomg, we use only "Osmo Color," a natural paint made in Germany, for all our toys.

It's a paint made using plant oils, and since it meets Japan's Food Sanitation Act standards,
it's safe even if your child licks or mouths the toy ♪

Of course this applies to Donguri Korokoro and Tuminy,
and we also use Osmo Color for baby toy items like "Kurumame" and the "Mame Rattle," so
we also recommend using them as teething toys for babies ♪

Next, about the adhesive (glue).

Comomg uses an adhesive called "Titebond."
Just like Osmo Color, this also meets food safety standards, so it's safe even if your child licks it.

It's also highly water-resistant and has strong adhesive power, so even if it's dropped
or a child happens to throw it, it won't easily break.

Donguri Korokoro has a marble inside it,
and after gluing the head and body together with Titebond, we hold it firmly in place until the glue fully dries, so
you can use it without worrying about it coming apart ♪

About polishing and edge-rounding (chamfering)

When making our toys, Comomg pays close attention to
making the finish smooth and rounding off the edges.

These are toys that children spend a great deal of time touching each day.
That's why we want such toys to feel smooth and silky, never rough or splintery,
so that they feel pleasant to the touch.

Since Comomg uses wood as the material for its toys,
the degree of roughness can vary depending on the grain of the wood it's cut from,
but by hand-polishing each and every piece, every single one is finished beautifully ✨

Also, so that children can hold the toys with peace of mind,
we lightly sand down any sharp edges, giving them a soft, rounded feel.

From building blocks to small parts like truck tires, we round off the edges (chamfer them) as well, so
if you ever get the chance, please take a closer look ♪

This time, we've introduced a few of Comomg's "commitments to safety" when it comes to making toys,
a few of them, at least.

Since it's something your precious child will spend a long time with,
we all want to choose something safe and reassuring that we can feel good about.

As a toy that will spend a long time with your child,
we would be truly delighted if you chose a Comomg toy!
