A seated soldier figure modeled after a royal cavalry guard, "Toby," and his pull-toy horse, "Boco." Ride the soldier on the horse and take him for a stroll.

－ Features －

• Boco's front axle is set slightly off-center, so pulling him makes him toddle along with a gentle up-and-down bob. Toby's neck is a little loose, so his head wobbles along in sync with Boco's motion — a fun visual duet to watch.
• Magnets are built into Toby's seat and Boco's saddle, so he can be easily placed on or taken off. Easy for small hands to manage, and repeated play helps develop fine motor skills.
• The paint and adhesive meet Japanese and international safety standards that are safe even if licked (see the FAQ below for details).

During the crawling stage, an adult can pull the toy and the baby can enjoy following behind it. Once toddling begins, children can pull it themselves. As they grow a bit older, they can take Toby off of Boco and play with them as soldier and horse dolls. The way to play changes with age, making this a toy children can grow attached to over a long time.

Q. What age is it suitable for?
A. It's recommended for ages 3 and up. That said, even babies still crawling can enjoy following along when an adult pulls the toy for them. Once children begin toddling, they can pull it themselves.

Q. Can Toby and Boco be separated?
A. Yes. Magnets are built into Toby's seat and Boco's saddle, so he can easily be placed on or taken off.

Q. Is the paint and adhesive safe?
A. The paint used (Osmo Color, Garden Color / Normal Clear) is safe even if licked. Once dry, the coating meets the German industrial standard DIN 53160 (saliva and sweat resistance test), the European toy safety standard EN71-3, and Japan's Food Sanitation Act (toy standards). The adhesive used, Titebond III, is also highly safe (FDA-approved in the US, compliant with ASTM D4236).

－ The Story Behind Its Design －

Children love pretend play. Toby & Boco was born from a wish to create a pull toy that would naturally lead into that kind of play. Beyond simply being pulled along, Toby the soldier can be taken off of Boco the horse, which opens the door to pretend play in a natural way.

The motif is a British royal cavalry guard — one that has long been familiar in Japan too, appearing even in the children's song "Omocha no Cha Cha Cha" ("The Toys' Cha Cha Cha"), which features a toy soldier. Because it's a motif so many of us grew up with through that song, the wish to one day bring it to life stayed with us until it finally became Toby & Boco.
