A set of cat-shaped building blocks along with the cargo the cats carry on their backs. The cats may look tricky to stack, but they offer many ways to play — from simple stacks even little ones can manage on their own, to intricate arrangements that adults will enjoy too.
- Features -
- Each block, based on a 4cm module, is precisely cut at a 45-degree angle — and it's this precision that makes acrobatic stacking arrangements possible that ordinary blocks simply can't achieve.
- Our in-house crafted cat blocks are made with high precision, so the pieces fit together perfectly when stacked, making them stable and less likely to topple, even for little ones.
- From simple to intricate stacking, there's a wide range to enjoy — so it's not just for children but adults too can get absorbed in it, and it makes a wonderful gift.
- Built on a 4cm module, it can be combined with other blocks and with Tuminy (a Comomg product) to expand the play possibilities even further.
- The paint and adhesive meet Japanese and international safety standards that are safe even if licked (see the FAQ below for details).
The white cat is made of maple, the black cat of walnut, each showcasing the natural beauty of its wood grain. The colorful cargo, with a different feel from the natural-wood cats, adds a toy-like charm on top of their visual beauty.
Lovely as a piece of interior decor in any room, it also makes a wonderful gift for someone special — for a new baby, a birthday, and more.

- FAQ -
Q. What age is it suitable for?
A. It's recommended for ages 3 and up. Simple stacking arrangements can be enjoyed independently by little ones, while intricate arrangements can absorb adults too.
Q. Should I choose maple or walnut?
A. There's no functional difference between the materials — choose based on your preference for the white cat (maple) or the black cat (walnut). Both come as a set of 2 cats with 2 cargo pieces.
Q. Is the set 4 cats?
A. No, this product is a set of 2 cats and 2 cargo pieces. You'll choose either the white cat (maple) or the black cat (walnut) — it is not a set of 4 cats, so please note this when ordering.
Q. Is the paint and adhesive safe?
A. The paint used (Osmo Color) is safe even if licked. Once dry, the coating meets the German industrial standard DIN 53160 (saliva and sweat resistance test), the European toy safety standard EN71-3, and Japan's Food Sanitation Act (toy standards). The adhesive used, Titebond III, is also highly safe (FDA-approved in the US, compliant with ASTM D4236).
- About the Original Design -
Neko Block is an original character and original toy from Comomg (since 2015). For lasting peace of mind, please purchase genuine products only from Comomg's official website or authorized retailers.
- The Story Behind Its Design -
Neko Block didn't start out as an attempt to design a cat. The first idea was to create an unconventional building block based on a 4cm module. Through trial and error — drilling holes, cutting at right angles — it became clear that a 45-degree cut allowed for the widest variety of stacking arrangements.
The question then became: what design would fit that 45-degree cut perfectly? The answer turned out to be a cat. Since Japan has a delivery service with a cat as its motif, it was decided to have the cats carry square cargo on their backs, completing the set.
It took a great deal of time to go from the overall design to an actual finished product. Even once a precise 45-degree cut could be made at the prototype stage, manufacturing it consistently at scale presented an entirely different kind of challenge. It required not only improving the precision of the machines and jigs, but also steadily refining the skills of the staff responsible for production.
Neko Block is also a toy that greatly helped Comomg's own development capabilities grow.
