    ■Donguri Kabuto Series

    2026 production is sold out.

A dignified samurai helmet atop a Donguri Korokoro — the Boys' Day version, "Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata." The beautiful contrast between walnut and maple creates a wooden Boys' Day decoration perfect for Kodomo no Hi (Children's Day).

    - Features -

    • The kabuto (helmet) attaches securely to the Natural Donguri figure with a cord, and comes off just as easily. Enjoy two expressions in one piece: the dignified look with the helmet on, and Donguri Korokoro's original cute face with it off.
    • The byōbu (folding screen) doubles as a small slope — roll the Natural Donguri figure down it to enjoy the pleasant "koto-koto" sound unique to the Donguri Korokoro series.
    • This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece. Due to its delicate construction, it is meant to be displayed and cherished rather than handled as a play item. Since small parts are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children (see FAQ below for details).
    • The paint and adhesives used meet domestic and international safety standards, safe even if licked.

Simply placing it on an entryway or living room shelf brings a dignified Boys' Day atmosphere to the room. A wooden kabuto that can actually be worn is rare, due to the difficulty of hollowing out the inside. Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata achieves this with high precision, letting you enjoy both the dignified look with the helmet on and Donguri Korokoro's original cute expression underneath — two looks in one. It's sure to become something you look forward to bringing out each year when the season comes around.

Perfect for celebrating Boys' Day, as well as for baby gifts and presents for friends or people overseas. Every year when you bring it out, it's sure to bring back the warm feeling of that special gift.

    - Frequently Asked Questions -

    Q. Can this be played with as a toy?
    A. This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece, with delicate construction. It is meant to be displayed and enjoyed. Since small parts such as glass beads are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children to prevent choking hazards.

    Q. Can the kabuto be removed?
    A. Yes. The kabuto is attached to the Natural Donguri figure with a cord and can be removed. The byōbu also doubles as a small slope, so you can roll the Natural Donguri figure on it, but please handle both gently and with care, as they are delicately made.

    Q. When is this sold?
    A. Pre-orders typically open around December each year. Whether it will be manufactured every year is not guaranteed, and it may become unavailable once sold out.

    Q. Is the paint and adhesive safe?
    A. The paint used (Osmo Color Normal Clear) is safe even if licked; once dry, the coating meets the German industrial standard DIN53160 (saliva and perspiration resistance test), the European toy safety standard EN71-3, and Japan's Food Sanitation Act (toy standards). The adhesive used, Titebond III, is also highly safe (US FDA approved, compliant with ASTM D4236).

    - About Our Originals -

Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata is a Boys' Day version born from Comomg's original character and original toy, "Donguri Korokoro." While we are grateful for its popularity, we have also seen similar imitation products. For lasting peace of mind, please purchase genuine items from the official Comomg website or authorized retailers.

    - Development Story -

Boys' Day (Kodomo no Hi) is an important Japanese occasion that wishes for children's healthy growth. In recent years, however, the tradition of displaying kabuto helmets and May dolls has gradually faded. With a wish to pass this tradition on to the next generation, even in a different form, Comomg created this kabuto decoration in our own signature style — something you can actually touch and enjoy.

Though crafted as a wooden decorative piece, a wooden kabuto that can truly be worn is actually quite rare. This is because hollowing out the inside of a wooden helmet is extremely difficult, so most such products are made for display only. Wanting to fulfill that childlike feeling of "it's a helmet, so I want to wear it," we finished Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata with a precisely hollowed-out interior so it can genuinely be placed on the Natural Donguri figure.
