Donguri Kabuto・Kuwagata/basic set with Name Plate
Pickup currently unavailable
2026 production is sold out.
A dignified helmet atop Donguri Korokoro — the Boys' Day decoration version, "Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata with Name Plate." This wooden Boys' Day decoration, with its beautiful contrast between walnut and maple, comes as a set with a Name Plate that can bear your child's name.
- Features -
- The kabuto (helmet) is secured firmly on Natural Donguri with a cord, and comes off easily. Enjoy two expressions in one piece: the dignified look with the helmet on, and Donguri Korokoro's original cute face with it off.
- The byōbu (folding screen) doubles as a small slope — roll Natural Donguri down it to enjoy the pleasant "koto-koto" sound unique to the Donguri Korokoro series.
- It comes with a Name Plate for your child's name, date of birth, and more, making it a one-of-a-kind keepsake to give as a baby gift or Boys' Day gift.
- This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece. Due to its delicate construction, it is meant to be displayed and cherished. Since small parts are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children (see FAQ below for details).
- The paint and glue used meet Japanese and international safety standards and are safe even if licked.
Simply placing it on an entryway or living room shelf brings a dignified Boys' Day atmosphere to the room. A wooden kabuto that can actually be put on is rare, due to the difficulty of hollowing out the inside. Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata achieves this with high precision, letting you enjoy both the dignified look with the helmet on and Donguri Korokoro's original cute expression with it off — two looks in one. It's sure to become something you look forward to bringing out each year when the season comes around.
Adding your child's name and date of birth to the Name Plate makes it a one-of-a-kind Boys' Day decoration. Perfect for celebrating Boys' Day, as well as for baby gifts and presents for friends or people overseas. Every year when you display it, it's sure to bring back the feelings with which it was given.

Q. Can the kabuto be removed?
A. Yes. The kabuto is placed on Natural Donguri with a cord and can be removed. The byōbu is a small slope, so you can also roll Natural Donguri on it, but please handle everything gently and with care, as they are delicately made.
Q. What kind of name can be engraved?

Please enter your desired text directly into the "Nameplate Text" field on the product page, starting a new line for each of positions ①②③. The font size is adjusted according to the number of characters. See the images below for details on engraving positions and fonts.
Q. When is this sold?
A. Pre-orders usually open around December each year. Whether it will be made every year is not confirmed, and it may become unavailable once sold out.

The glue is also a highly safe product, Titebond III (FDA-approved in the US, ASTM D4236 compliant).
- About the Original -
Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata is a Boys' Day decoration version born from Comomg's original character and original toy, "Donguri Korokoro." While we are grateful for its great popularity, we have also seen similar products. For lasting peace of mind, please purchase the genuine item from the official Comomg website or authorized retailers.
- Development Story -
Boys' Day (Tango no Sekku) is an important Japanese occasion that wishes for children's healthy growth. In recent years, however, the tradition of displaying kabuto helmets and May dolls has gradually faded. With a wish to pass this tradition on to the next generation, even in a different form, Comomg created this kabuto decoration in our own signature style — something you can actually touch and enjoy.
Though crafted as a wooden decorative piece, a wooden kabuto that can truly be put on is actually quite rare. This is because hollowing out the inside of a wooden helmet is extremely difficult, so most such products are made for display only. Wanting to fulfill that childlike feeling of "it's a helmet, so I want to put it on," we precisely hollowed out the inside of Donguri Kabuto Kuwagata so that it can genuinely be placed on Natural Donguri.
