Donguri Kabuto・crescent moon/basic set with Name Plate
Pickup currently unavailable
2026 production is sold out.
With its dignified crescent-moon crest, "Donguri Kabuto Mikazuki (Crescent Moon) with Name Plate" is a seasonal festival decoration version of Donguri Korokoro. The set includes a helmet in calm walnut tones, a Natural Donguri, a display base, and a byōbu (folding screen), plus a Name Plate that can be engraved with your child's name and date of birth.
- Features -
- The kabuto (samurai helmet) fits securely over the Natural Donguri with a cord, and comes off easily. Enjoy two expressions in one piece: the dignified look with the helmet on, and Donguri Korokoro's original, endearing face with it off.
- The byōbu doubles as a small slope — roll the Natural Donguri down it to enjoy the pleasant "koto-koto" sound unique to the Donguri Korokoro series.
- It comes with a Name Plate for a name, date of birth, and more, so you can give it as a one-of-a-kind keepsake for a new baby or a Boys' Day celebration.
- This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece. Due to its delicate construction, it is meant to be displayed and cherished. Since small parts are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children (see the FAQ below for details).
- The paint and adhesives used meet Japanese and international safety standards and are safe even if licked.
Simply placing it on an entryway or living room shelf adds the dignified atmosphere of Boys' Day (Tango no Sekku) to the room. The crescent-moon helmet, paired with the calm tones of walnut, has a presence that is both dignified and elegant. It's sure to become something you look forward to bringing out each year when the season comes around.
Adding your child's name and date of birth to the Name Plate makes it a one-of-a-kind festival decoration. Perfect for celebrating Boys' Day, as well as a baby gift or a present for friends or people overseas. Every year when you display it, it's sure to bring back the feelings of the day it was given.

- Frequently Asked Questions -
Q. Can it be played with as a toy?
A. This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece, and its construction is delicate. It is meant to be displayed and enjoyed. Since it includes small parts such as a glass bead, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children to prevent accidental swallowing.
Q. Can the kabuto be removed?
A. Yes. The kabuto fits over the Natural Donguri with a cord and can be removed. The byōbu doubles as a small slope, so you can also roll the Natural Donguri down it, but both are delicately made, so please handle them gently and with care.
Q. What kind of name can be engraved?
A. We engrave your child's name, date of birth, or similar on the Name Plate. In the "Nameplate Text" field on the product page, please type the text you would like directly, starting a new line for each of positions ①, ② and ③. The font size is adjusted according to the number of characters. Please see the images below for details on engraving positions and fonts.
Q. When is it sold?
A. Pre-orders usually open around December each year. Production is not confirmed for every year, and it may become unavailable once sold out.
Q. Are the paint and adhesive safe?
A. The paint (Osmo Color Normal Clear) is safe even if licked; once dry, the coating complies with the German industrial standard DIN53160 (saliva and sweat resistance test), the European toy safety standard EN71-3, and Japan's Food Sanitation Act (toy standards). The adhesive is Titebond III, also highly safe (US FDA approved, ASTM D4236 compliant).
- About Our Originals -
Donguri Kabuto Mikazuki is a seasonal festival decoration version born from "Donguri Korokoro," Comomg's original character and original toy. While we are grateful that it has been so well received, we have also come across similar imitation products. For lasting peace of mind, please purchase genuine products from the official Comomg website or authorized retailers.
- Development Story -
The crescent-moon helmet crest is widely known as the helmet of Date Masamune, one of the most representative warlords of Japan's Sengoku (Warring States) period in the 16th century. Although Masamune never achieved the unification of Japan, his courage combined with deep compassion has made him beloved not only by the people of Miyagi Prefecture, his home base, but by many Japanese across the ages to this day.
Donguri Kabuto Mikazuki takes inspiration from Masamune and carries our wish that children, too, will grow up strong and kind. We would be delighted if you could bring the figure of this historical hero into your everyday life through Comomg's own endearing design.
