Donguri Kororo's Hina doll set, "Donguri Hina Ningyo." A beautiful wooden Hinamatsuri decoration where the natural colors of the wood create a striking contrast.

• Odairi-sama and Ohina-sama are made from naturally different-colored woods — maple, walnut, zelkova, bubinga, and purple heart. Finished only with a clear coating and no staining, so you can enjoy the natural color contrast and beautiful grain of the wood itself.
• The byōbu (folding screen) doubles as a small slope, letting both Odairi-sama and Ohina-sama roll down it. Beyond simply being decorative, it offers the same "koto-koto" rolling motion unique to the Donguri Kororo series.
• This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece. Due to its delicate construction, it is meant to be displayed and cherished. Since small parts are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children (see FAQ below for details).
• The paint and adhesives used meet domestic and international safety standards, safe even if licked.

Q. Can this be played with as a toy?
A. This item is crafted not as a toy but as a wooden decorative piece, with delicate construction. It is meant to be displayed and enjoyed. Since small parts such as glass beads are included, please have an adult present when placing it within reach of small children to prevent choking hazards.

Q. Can you roll the byōbu too?
A. Yes. The byōbu doubles as a small slope, so you can roll the Odairi-sama and Ohina-sama Donguri down it. Please handle it gently and with care, as it is delicately made.

Q. When is this sold?
A. While not guaranteed, we typically manufacture this around Hinamatsuri (March 3rd) each year. Once sold out, it will not be available again until the next season, and there is a possibility it may not be manufactured in a future season either. (Past production years: 2022, 2023, 2025, 2026)

Q. Is the paint and adhesive safe?
A. The paint used (Osmo Color Normal Clear) is safe even if licked; once dry, the coating meets the German industrial standard DIN53160 (saliva and perspiration resistance test), the European toy safety standard EN71-3, and Japan's Food Sanitation Act (toy standards). The adhesive used, Titebond III, is also highly safe (US FDA approved, compliant with ASTM D4236).

Donguri Hina Ningyo is a Hinamatsuri version born from Comomg's original character and original toy, "Donguri Kororo." While we are grateful for its popularity, we have also seen similar imitation products. Hinamatsuri is a Japanese occasion said to date back to the Heian period, wishing for children's healthy growth and happiness. In recent years, however, the tradition of displaying Hina dolls has gradually faded. With a wish to pass this tradition on to the next generation, even in a different form, Comomg created this Hina doll set in our own signature style.

Donguri Hina Ningyo was born as an offshoot of our "Donguri Kabuto" series, originally created for Boys' Day. While most Hina doll sets are meant purely for display, Donguri Hina Ningyo turns the byōbu into a slope so you can roll Odairi-sama and Ohina-sama down it — a rare "Hina doll set you can actually play with." We aimed to create a Hina doll set that is beautiful to look at and delightful to touch.
